What confuses me is the name of the custom image "ESXi 6.5b (System X and ThinkServer)”, which includes System X and I unable to get an answer from the technical support if that can be used to install or upgrade ESXi on IBM System X3650 m4 servers.Ĭan someone please confirm if ESXi 6.5b (System X and ThinkServer) or general VMware ESXi 6.5b image should be used with IBM System X3650 m4 servers? Release notes for Lenovo ESXi images ( ) state that Lenovo custom ESXi images are not supported on IBM servers. I know simular question was posted before, but I want to clear up the confusion.īased on the Lenovo OS Interoperability Guide Vmware ESXi 6.5 is supported with System x3650 m4, however in the notes it states “Lenovo custom images for VMware ESXi are not supported with this server” ( )
