I'm completely sure that all the kids could love it a lot to play with! ). Yes you're right!I've judged the thing too hardly, just as if they were a precision tool for adults. I have all these toys- they are fantastic and it's where I started in super 8 projection. Bentley Bx-11 Projector ManualĬorgi also made a hand-held viewer and a TV/ projector that was motorised (a toy version of the likes of the Eumig RS3000) and could run at various speeds backwards as well.
BENTLEY BX 11 MANUAL MOVIE
The Corgi Movie Projector works the same way with a continuous loop of super 8 in a cartridge. I guess super 8 toys are still being made. The lens set up in the viewfinder can't see the edges of the view either- what ever became of the Bently company?įILM-THURSO wrote:Waow, that Disney toy looks great. Yes the galvanised -YES, GALVANISED- gate is guarenteed not to rust and will most certainly take advantage of it's unique qualities to scratch the lively manure out of that precious camera original footage. With a lens the size of a Nat's testicle and and aparently adjustable aperture (though it is determined not to adjust in the slightest) this paralax joy doesn't even stop the film advance when you let go of the shutter release, it just slows down and stops about 3 frames later and might even go as far as to close the shutter behind it! The picture gate is an engineering acheivement in it's own right. It's a real pity it is nowhere near the quality of the single 8 original. (yet) Cameras on the other hand- But Ah! Yes I have to say I have never seen anything bad in cine equipment until I bought a Bently Super 8 B3 which is modeled on the Fuji P2. I've never really encountered what I might call the worst projector, certainly machine better than others but none that are the worst of their kind.

My first projector was the Corgi Movie Projector and I had great fun with it in the days when power cuts were normal. Now that blue and white projector looks rather nice but in terms of being the worst it might be worth setting aside anything like it which are really intended as kids 'toys', a kind of 'my first projector' thing. It even looks WORSE than the Mupi Zeta 1!!! But the thing never runs very smoothely, slows down when the batteries are just 4 carts old.it's a real cheap-o-crap piece of machinery. It doesn't even say on it what the max aperture or other characteristics of the lens are! With good light, when you are at the correct distance for the focus.the results are sort of OK. Even more plasticky than the Bentleys, fixed focus lens.non-reflex viewfinder that only shows about 2/3 of the lens coverage becuase they've given it a 'widescreen' viewfinder (in reality just chops off the top third of the pic).no shutter interlock so at the end of a shot the shutter can remain open.no light meter, just a five point sliding knob for 'bright sun' 'sun with cloud' 'cloud' 'dim' and 'bulb' roughly calibrated for K40.sliding the knob opens up the aperture. Categorically the worst super 8 camera is the Mupi Zeta 2. If they are a dime a dozen, and really that bad, maybe I'll use it as a 'smash-up' camera, running some film as I toss it off my roof. Who made them? Are they collectible based on this evaluation of being 'the worst camera ever made?'

Does anyone know why the Bentley BX-720 is often described as 'the worst Super 8 camera ever made' (according to the wiki Super 8 List)? A relative of mine found one at a garage sale and is going to send it to me.
